Vehicles are long-range units and have greater speed and load capacity than other troops. Vehicles are built in the vehicle factory.
For gathering, vehicles can carry more resources than human troops. Therefore, they are ideal for collecting large amounts of res in each trip.
In combat, vehicles have a high attack level but a low defense level compared to other troops. For this reason they are usually placed in the third Formation tier behind other troops.
Vehicles are also much faster than other troops, and contribute to the speed of an APC as it moves to gather or attack. For example, an APC with all vehicles will move much faster than one with a combination of troop types. Because of its speed and attack level (while considering low defensive ability), an all-vehicle APC is ideal for fast attacks on bases with low defenses.
Vehicles are healed with other troops in hospitals.
Awkward Concept #1 : A vehicle never really rides in a single Armored Personnel Carrier. Think of the APC as a large mass of all kinds of troops.
Awkward Concept #2 : A vehicle would not really be healed in a hospital. So as above, think of the Hospital as any building that repairs all kinds of troops.
